If it was not for a pool incident I would be installing Android 2.2 (Froyo) on my Motorola Droid, then again I had the rooted version. Regardless, Verizon is starting the phased rollout of Android 2.2 for the Original Droid Users. The update file is on Google servers download Android 2.2 for the Motorola Droid here. If you have the rooted 2.2 don’t update unless you no longer want root access. The update is for people with a approved ROM.
Install Instructions
1) Rename the file to update.zip (Download link is above)
2) Copy update.zip to the root of your SD card.
3) Power off your Droid.
4) Power on your DROID holding down the X key on the keyboard.
5) When you see the exclamation image, press the volume up and camera keys at the same time.
