My father in-law is a gadget geek and was telling me about a gadget he purchased shortly after the recent snow storms in the DC area. While most iPhone users use the Mophie Juice pack as an external battery, he decided to get the MiLi. I am not going to tell you how this battery technology is so much better than the Mophie Juice pack. We are not talking about ultra capacitors or anything. What I will tell you is the difference between the Mophie. The MiLi allows you to share the charge of your battery pack with friends.
On the bottom of the unit it has two ports labeled in and out. The out port allows you to use the battery to charge other external USB devices. It is nice because you can get your charge while sharing the power with a fellow iPhone user or a blackberry user provided they have their USB cable available.
I personally have always liked the Mophie but the option to share your battery on the MiLi warrants that as something to consider when looking at iPhone battery packs. My father in-law seems to like the unit. He got it as a knee jerk reaction to having a house without power for 2 days during a snow storm. It often takes events like this for most of us to realize how critical access to power is. It is the perfect backup battery option for the iPhone.
