Looks like Amazon is not taking the iPad lightly. Since the iPad became the hot rumor and announcement, Amazon has been making a lot of moves to keep its position in the eBook market. But going against everything that is Amazon is not one that anyone would have anticipated. Yesterday the Wall Street Journal reported that the Amazon Kindle will be sold at Target. Yes an actual store you can walk into.
The price of the Kindle is still slated to be $259 but, the difference is you will have to pay sales tax. I know Robb over at Rimarkable is a guy that likes to hold a device before he buys it. I realize that a lot of people are like that too. Therefore, I have to say although surprising, this is a good move for Amazon. Rod has mentioned that he likes reading on this kindle more than his iPad but there are still a lot of folks that don’t care. No solid word on when the first one will arrive but rumors have it as April 25th. We will let you know.
