Looks like the a site in the UK “accidentally” posted the iOS4 update for the iPhone. According to an article on computerworld.com Apple’s UK site stated the update would be available on September 8th. In the Apple music event Steve Jobs only stated that the update would be available “next week”. In addition to bug fixes the update will have a lot of new features too.

This leaked version is for the European versions of the Galaxy S. If you own the Vibrant or Captivate don't bother trying as the model number differs. It will be interesting to see if the Android community is able to address the GPS issues on the device. In the US the update is planned for early fall, but I also recall and MMS for the iPhone being planned for early fall and taking significantly longer.

Every once in a while you have a hiccup, today is the day for Sprint HTC Evo users. Â There appears to be an issue with the latest OTA EVO update which has rendered some users phones useless. Â Essentially after applying the update you are prompted to apply a second time, users that apply twice brick their phones. Â Sprint and HTC have pulled the OTA and promise to restore it once the identify the issue.
While the vast majority of consumers successfully downloaded and installed the most recent HTC EVO 4G software update, we have received a handful of reports from customers having some issues with the update. In light of this, HTC and Sprint have decided to temporarily halt distribution of this software release until we can investigate further. We expect to be able to resume software updates shortly.
I would rather have the update removed while they try to address the issue.

I guess we will still be one release behind the Nexus One users but I will take 2.1. Â Sometimes I get information overload but I am happy to see the update for the Droid is coming this week. Â Makes me wonder when HTC will get off their backsides and update the Droid Eris.
I believe Motorola made a good call to excluded the battery draining feature called Live wall papers. Â I heard in the comments on phandroid.com that 3d spin icons will also not be included in this update.
