Attachments over Bridge Email

One of the best aspects of the latest update to the BlackBerry Playbook is attachments over Bridge Email. With update 1.0.3.1868 you can now attach your video, pictures, music or documents from both your Playbook or BlackBerry smartphone to emails. This was a huge complaint of many people when the Playbook shipped and RIM is working at a blinding pace to resolve all user complaints.

BlackBerry Playbook

Research in Motion is giving all BlackBerry Playbook users a present this morning, update 1.0.3.1868. This update brings the much awaited BlackBerry Messenger (BBM) to the playbook along with video chat and saving bookmarks to the homescreen as shortcuts. Another goodie the update brings is the ability to rearrange homescreen icons like the iOS, Android, and Windows Phone. In similar fashion to other platforms press and hold and icon until the behavior changes then start moving.

Despite all these advancements the ability to attach files to bridge email is HUGE edition in this update. Finally you can email pictures, video, and screenshots from your playbook without the need to use webmail or tether to a computer.

BlackBerry Playbook Software OTA Update

If you have not received the latest software update for your BlackBerry Playbook, version 1.0.1.1710, there is no shortage of sites showing how to force the update via desktop manager. I resisted, as I wanted to see how long it took to be notified of the OTA update and what the process was like. This is a minor update mainly to fix minor bugs. Unlike the update required out of the box this update went as smooth as silk.

ViewSonic GTablet

ViewSonic has released an update which adds support for Adobe Flash. Additionally, the ViewSonic gTablet will also have support for USB Keyboard and mouse. The tablet will also have support for external docking stations. Call me silly but ViewSonic has creating a build your own computer. Either you want a tablet you you want a computer that needs to be assembled and lacks the functionality of most modern computers.

Post image for ChevronWP7 Windows Phone 7 NODO Update Step by Step Screen Shots

We recently posted about a new procedure that installs NODO on your Windows Phone 7 device today. I was able to do this update on the AT&T Samsung Focus without issue and documented the process. The only gotcha I ran into had to run the app twice since there are two updates. Also, beware that if you tried the previous method of turning off your adapters make sure you turn them back on as a nasty exception is thrown if you do not.

Post image for New Windows Phone 7 NODO Hack

I love how passionate Windows Phone 7 fans are about their devices to the extent that carriers and Microsoft should really pay attention to what is going on. Users have been coming up with different ways to force the Windows Phone 7 NODO update onto their phones. Some folks have seen the T-Mobile HD7 start getting updates but AT&T customers are still waiting on the outside. This new trick will help some Phone 7 owners get the update, specifically those devices where the carriers have started pushing updates out.

Post image for Windows Phone 7 NODO Update Released

Finally, after all the waiting Windows Phone 7 users are starting to go and update their Windows Phone 7 devices manually. I will be updating my Samsung Focus as soon as I see an update available as of right now I am not getting the option. Thinking about it this sucks because I just paired it with my new truck. However, that aspect pales in comparison to just the satisfaction of the first Windows Phone 7 update.
