Anyone that has been following us and this site knows that we are big fans of DVDFab. We have written articles on how to convert movies for the iPad, Windows Phone, BlackBerry and now Windows Phone 7. To take this a step further I wanted to follow the theme of Phone 7 too. There is a lot of integration between the phone, the Xbox, and your pc. So I wanted convert my DVD to find a format that could be played on all three platforms as well. To start with you need DVDFab DVD Ripper. If you don’t own it go t get it now. It is the best DVD ripping software available. And now supports Blu-ray too.

I have written a few guides on converting movies before and since there are new gadgets out there I need to to it again. I am telling you now, if you want to convert movies you must use DVDFab. It is hands down the best DVD Converting software out there. DVDFab is great because they have all kinds of different flavors. There is an option just to backup DVD’s to your hard drive or convert DVD’s to a mobile format, which is what we will use for the iPad. The version we are using is DVDFab DVD Ripper (DVD to Mobile)..

I get asked all the time how do you convert movies so you can watch them on your Zune HD, Blackberry Storm, iPhone, Android or add them to my home media center. I don’t want this blog post to be long winded rather step by step instructions as to how I convert movies. Unlike my buddy Chris I take a two step process in movie conversions. Additionally, I am approaching this from a Mac perspective. Not because I don’t use Windows, but because my Windows machines are busy all day and I have free cycles on my iMac when my kids are in school so I put that thing to work.
