Shopper - Shopping List, Flyer Specials, Recipes, Stores, Scanner and more

Shopper is an iPhone app designed to solve the issues of organizing and creating shopping lists. We all have a honeydew note pad to write down items that need to be purchase and as the week progresses the list gets longer. The challenges with traditional lists are not something you look to solve until someone shows you a near perfect solution.

The Problems with traditional shopping lists

  • Lists are created during the week so items are added randomly vs. being group by location in the store
  • Most people don’t carry a pencil or pen to cross items off the list
  • Some items you want a specific brand to replace what you have.
  • You always remember something that needs to be on the list after the shopper leaves for the store

You can tell Shopper where items are located in the so your list is properly grouped. Essentially, you tell Shopper what is on the signs hanging on each shopping aisle. Shopper also has a built –in bar code scanner via RedLaser. Imagine scanning the Barcode on a box of cereal as you run out thus adding it to your shopping list.

My favorite feature of Shopper is the list can be shared and synchronized between multiple people. How many times are you shopping only to get a call or text to add and item to the list? With Shopper just add items to the list and they are automatically sync to the iPhone.

Nice article – A couple more things that are cool:

    1) Shopper is now on the Blackberry. it even worked on my old 8330 curve – complete with syncing to an iphone.
    2) don’t have two smartphones? Shopper is also available online at http://www.myshopperapp.com. You can log on here and update your lists, and they’ll sync to your hubby at the grocery store! ;-)

For shopping (groceries, or really anything) we use “Which Aisle”. You can add your own products or use the built-in products. The app even tells you which aisle numbers the stuff is in.
