I am not shocked Motorola has yet another privacy issue around call logs or communication history.  Motorola Droid frequently call log had a privacy issue we blogged about  in December.

BGR is reporting the Motorola Droid X shows text messages and call history after they have been deleted via the contacts history.  There is not magic here scroll to the contact history in the contacts app.  The iPhone had a similar issue around deleted stuff remaining searchable, hopefully Motorola will actually get around to fixing this in a timely manner.  It appears the is related to the Motorola BLUR interface and is present on other devices.

I found this only pertains to the very last text message sent from that contact, not entire message strings. Not sure if anyone has seen more than that.

The main problem is with telephone numbers you have in your CONTACTS LIST. The privacy issue can be solved simply: whoever you text that you want to keep private, leave OUT of your contacts list. Go straight to TEXT MESSAGE with the telephone number and that way you can delete all threads. All those in your CONTACTS LIST that you text, make sure you don’t mind having a HISTORY with.
Do they need to still fix this, YES. But the problem can be side stepped.

I agree you can side step but the nature of how people use phones this is a problem if you are concerned with privacy or if you need to avoid people being able to see your conversation(s) after deleted.
