i.Sound Power Max

With the number of devices we can charge over over USB how can you resist a 16,000 mAh 5 port USB portable battery charger for under $80. We have been huge fans of Energizer XPal line of portable chargers specifically the Energizer XP18000. When I initially saw the i.Sound Power Max with 16,000 mAH it was the 5 USB ports that highlighted the charging potential of this device.

While the XP18000 can also charge laptops the i.Sound Power Max only supports USB devices like smartphones, bluetooth headsets, bluetooth speakers, or tablets. The only down side I currently see is the Power Max does not support the 10v USB charging devices like the iPad, thus resulting in a slow or trickle charge. One of my favorite mobile charges the ZaggSparq has a USB port optimized for iPad Charging. The only issue I have had was charging my BlackBerry Torch but the iPhone, iPad, Playbook, and HTC Thunderbolt all charged without issue.

What I like about the Power Max over the the Energizer XP 18000 is the size if is smaller overall but thicker to accommodate the 5 vertical USB ports. I was sitting at a bar with several colleagues charging 4 devices as we all watched the basketball game. Despite 2 solid days of charging the battery still has 3 power lights remaining after my trip.

Overall I like the i.Sound Power Max and the $77 price tag does not hurt. There is not much to say about 5 USB ports hooked to a 16,000 mAh battery. It solves my power need for mobile devices when I travel.

Buy the i.Sound Power Max on Amazon for $77

I had the same issue with the BlackBerry Torch.  I contacted the maker and hope to know more soon.  i.Sound says it provides 5v charging which is what a BB Charging cable provides.  I assume it is just under 5V as my Torch says it is not getting enough power
