Apple has scheduled a news conference today and has invited some of the big teck blog sites to be there. Not sure what happened to our invitation, but hay we’re not mad. Rod and I began debating what Apple would be saying about the antenna issue. So Brent, Robb, Rod, and I listed out some of our predictions for todays event.
Chris Predicts
We are buying Google and using the Android OS to run our product, iToilets. But you have to use a bumper on the handle or it won’t flush.
We know we have an antennae issue so we wanted to take this moment to say we will now be selling our phones on Verizon’s network, Why leave them out of the antennae fun. Can you hear me now?
iPhone 4 is Our Vista! You cut me real deep Microsoft real deep!
We didn’t invent holding the phone we just did it the right way. You need an iHand to hold the phone then everything is perfect. No signal drops at all.
Ok Ok, we admit it, AT&T’s network is not the problem. We had a deal with Verizon to go to AT&T and ruin there name with our crappy antennas. And now, the jig is up. Verizon will be getting our new and improved iPhone with a working antennae design. AT&T thanks, it’s been fun.
Rod Predicts
I believe Apple will acknowledge the consumer and media concerns and apologize people misunderstand this non issue. (The classic non apology). They will offer some concession like a free or significantly reduced price bumper case.
Apple will inform us of an isolated issue with a batch of iPhone 4 devices that shipped. They will offer replacement devices in a serial number range and explain all other phones are not impacted.
Brent Predicts
Apple will acknowledge consumer perception of an issue with the iPhone 4 antenna design and offer bumpers for $2.99. Not as a admission, Apple is a consumer focused company and although this is not a design issue we want our customer to be happy and we will offer our case at a 90% discount to show how good of a company Apple is.
Robb Predicts
There is no chance that Apple will issue a recall, however, they will offer some type of inexpensive (cheap) bumper case that prohibits physical contact with the antenna that they will give to iPhone 4 customers that request them. I believe that these cases will be free as it would be difficult to require that a consumer spend more money to get their device to work properly when it should have worked properly out of the box.
