The Nexus One is here and it is exactly what we have been hearing about for the past couple weeks. I have not a single regret about my purchase of the Motorola Droid. Let me put this on the table, the “friendship” between Google and Apple is no doubt over. Apple pulled the classic 5 year old wanting attention move today by announcing both an acquisition of Quattro and the App Store hitting supposedly 3 Billion downloads.
Thank you for not coming to Verizon
If I was still a GSM customer have no doubt the Nexus One would be in route to my house at this moment. Honestly I would have driven to the nearest TMobile Store if that would have ensured I would have one in hand today. I may pick one up regardless as it is perfect for my international travel. I admit it, I need to give myself any reason to buy toys. However, at this point, I cannot think of a single feature on the Nexus One that make me say I want to have it now.
Wait there are two…
- Its new
- It is running Android 2.1 Eclair.
Google Please be Evil
I suspect we will all forget about the Nexus One when Apple announces the tablet later this month. I hope Google does something to sprinkle some salt in Apples announcement. Please let it be that they annouce they will giveaway 5,000 Nexus One’s. Better yet, announce how users can earn cash back running the Android with targeted Ads. Please Please Please Google. No one believes in that “Do no evil” corporate philosophy. RUIN the day for Apple. They need an ego check.
Moments after completing this post I discovered the Nexus One will come to Verizon. Please let it be a CDMA/GSM device.
