Motorola Droid users get to sit on the side lines as Nexus One users get a software update. Not just any simple update but some real features. I guess the rumors that Steve Jobs said, Google’s “Don’t Be Evil” Mantra is Bullshit…” must have pissed Google off.

It has been rumored Google did not enable multi touch on Android phones in the US to protect the Apple Patent from being challenged. Will I guess that friendship is over as they enabled Multi-touch in the browser, maps, and the gallery. As a Droid user, I hope Motorola follows suite soon. That was not all in the update, they also got night mode in Google Maps which was much needed.

As the Droid users struggle with SMS/MMS messages being deleted when the messaging process crashes (see Android Deletes Your SMS/MMS); an inability to clear the frequently called list; security flaw in Googles phone lock; and a host of other bugs, it is becoming clear why you want to carry the Google branded phone. Verizon needs to get off their back sides and release an update for all the bugs in the Droid.
