I was certainly wondering what the calling experience was like on Windows Phone 7. And if you are interested in this phone then I am sure you have been too. Pocketnow.com has posted another demo video showing off this experience. Windows Phone 7 definitely is pretty elegant with the dialing features. And the in call functions are pretty good too. There is a nice overlay that allows you to access call functions such as speaker phone or the mute button. On that same overlay is another button that allows you to bring up the dialer. Of course if you are on AT&T you can check your email while you are talking.
One Very nice feature is when you are in a call but using a second application you see a notification bar at the top of the screen. Tapping that notification bar does not throw you out of the app you are in. Rather, it drops down the overlay on top of the application and allows you to access the call functions mentioned earlier.
The only thing that I saw missing was the dial by name feature. This is a staple of Windows Phone. Basically this feature allows you to spell a contacts name with the phone pad instead of having to actually look in the contacts. Hopefully this will be in the phone at release.
