There are a lot of Windows Phone fans that were bummed out about the fact that there was no upgrade path from their old phone to the new Windows Phone 7 Series. I certainly disagreed with anyone that had that opinion. An article on Gizmodo.com is reporting that the Zune HD will not be upgradeable either.
Gizmodo is reporting that there will be a Zune HD 2 that will support the XNA Gaming ability that Windows Phone 7 will. Therefore this new device will have the XBOX Game playing ability too. Just like I said for upgrades for Phone 7 I feel the same way for the Zune HD. Let’s start with a clean slate and make sure this new OS is as flawless as possible. I am tired of all the hoopla the iPod and iPhone gets, so I want no mistakes. I know it is not the popular opinion because I realize a lot of people can not afford to get new devices every year. Personally I have cut out my daily donut to save up to get a new device. The right decision is not always the best one.
