I spend a lot of time bashing the iPhone most likely because I am just good at it. I pride myself on honesty and there are a few useful applications. Let us be clear, if some of them were available on other platforms I may not have used it on the iPhone however, that is not the case. Over the next few weeks, I will write about the apps that I liked with the first being Labor Mate for iPhone.
What is Labor Mate?
Labor Mate is a Labor Stopwatch application. And for anyone wanting an easy way to keep track of their wife’s labor contractions this is the way to do it. Labor Mate is developed by White Peak Software.
How do I use it?
To use labor mate is very simple. When you launch the Labor Mate, you press the screen once to start the timer and again to stop it. When you look at the screen, you are presented with a detail screen. This screen gives you the duration of each contraction and the time between them. Moreover, there exists a summary screen that displays the average duration of each contraction (based on the last three) plus the average time between them based on the last six. Between these two screens, you can really determine when to call the doctor. In addition, for any man doing the timing you are completely prepared to run off the information to the doctor.
For the sentimental folks you can actually email the stats from your phone so that you can share them with others or store them as a reminder of the suffering for your kid when they start acting up. Labor mate costs $0.99 but it is a solid app for the iPhone.
