I did a review of the Jawbone Icon Hero a couple weeks ago. While I really liked the Jawbone Noise reduction the only issue I had was the lack of support for A2DP or streaming audio. Well, today Jawbone via MyTalk has released support for A2DP. We just got this press release in and wanted to share.
For those not familar A2DP stands for Advanced Audio Distribution Profile. It allows streaming of audio (music / podcasts) between bluetooth devices. For me this means clicking play on my phone and listening to my podcasts over my Jawbone Icon Hero headset.
Mobile enthusiasts seeking the best wire-free, hands-free experience with the ability to listen to music, podcasts, GPS driving directions and more, can now enjoy all of these great features on just one device. Using the dynamic power of the industry’s first and only integrated software platform, Jawbone MyTALK, Aliph added A2DP technology to its list of app offerings, giving users the ability to instantly update their Jawbone ICON headset so they can listen to any audio file stored on their phone via Bluetooth connection.
With the addition of streaming audio, Jawbone ICON users can be even more productive and connected, all while remaining hands-free and discreet. ICON users can now listen to podcasts or music while running errands or have turn by turn GPS directions whispered into their ear while navigating the streets, and keeping both hands on the wheel. The addition of A2DP will also give users the ability to manually adjust the volume on their headset.
The Jawbone MyTALK platform, now out of private beta, will continue to evolve with new apps and features that allow users to keep their Jawbone ICON fresh and new. Existing Jawbone ICON customers can visit the Innovations section of MyTALK and add this feature to their headset instantly, and at no cost.
