I am a Netflix subscriber and champion them any chance I get. I use their service on my Xbox and my Samsung Focus Windows Phone every chance I get. On the other hand I do own some movies from Amazon too. I am not sure if enough people realize that you can purchase Music and Movies from Amazon.com. But, not only can you purchase movies from them you can also rent and download them too. A reader on Engadget.com stumbled across an interesting screen when logging into their Amazon account. There was a message at the bottom of the screen that stated

Anyone that is a heavy Amazon user should consider signing up for Amazon Prime. Amazon prime gives you a

  • Unlimited FREE Two-Day Shipping
  • No minimum order size
  • Upgrades to One-Day shipping for $3.99/item

Now it seems Amazon is trying to add more benefits to being a Prime member. When other users attempted to log in to their Prime accounts they did not get the screen that the tipster got. But that may just mean that it was accidently rolled out or it’s fake. I am hoping that it was just an accident. After the whole Blu-Ray/HDDVD fiasco, I haven’t bought a movie on a disc. I want streaming movies to destroy Blu-Ray. Therefore, the more people in the streaming game the better. One thing for sure, I would like to see the integration between Windows Mobile and Amazon Movie purchases, be added to Windows Phone 7.
