Just how bad are Palm’s financials? On may of our podcasts we have speculated that it would be good for HTC to by Palm. Especially since they are being sued by Apple. We are sure that some of the patents that Palm holds would be great to fend off Apple.. However reuters.com is reporting that after HTC looked at the books they decided not to bid for Palm. That killed a lot of dreams. Look at the HD2 and imagine what could have been.
There was an unknown source quoted as saying
There just weren’t enough synergies to take the deal forward
The thing that surprises is that of the companies that are left in the running. RIM was not mentioned. This would have been a great announcement for RIM’s Wireless Enterprise Symposium April 27-29th.
