We get asked frequently, “how do I subscribe to your podcast?” Â Usually I am shocked as I felt the process was easy, but when I want through the process it is not exactly obvious unless your using a device like the Zune. Â We have put together a series of instructions on how to subscribe to podcasts. Â
Option 1 – 1 – Locate the Zune Icon on the site
For Simple Mobile Review this is simple the Zune icon is located on the right hand side under the Follow up label. If you are on a computer with the Zune Software running just click on the Zune.
2. Your Browser will be Redirected to Zune.net
After being Redirected to the Zune site you should get a popup asking to open something in the Zune software.
3. Click Allow to open the Zune Software
While Simple Mobile Review is not malware DO NOT uncheck the box Always ask before opening this type of address. Just click Allow.
4. Windows Security Warning
If your running on Windows Vista or Windows 7 you should see a security warning just click allow. As you can see it is saying a program called Zune from Microsoft is trying to launch.
5. Click Subscribe
Click the subscribe button. For Simple Mobile Review we record every week on wednesday and publish on thursday mornings. These will be automatically downloaded by your zune software and depending on your sync rules will be synced to your Zune device.
Zune Settings Tip: # of Podcasts to keep
In the top of the Zune software if you click Settings then click Podcasts in the list. The default settings work fine for me but you may want to adjust these settings so you only keep the last 1 or 2 episodes depending on your listening habits.
Zune Settings Tip: Sync Podcast to Devive
If I subscribe to a podcast then I want it on my device. Once your inthe settings area click on Device then Sync Options. Scroll down and you will see an option to sync Items I choose or All. The default is items i choose. I switch mine to All. Once that is done your good to go.
