Android Browser Settings

Just like doing house keeping on your desktop browser a little clean-up on your mobile web browser can help performance and remove tracking cookies. Windows Phone, Android, iOS, and BlackBerry all offer an option to clear out Internet history and cookies.  Web history makes it easy for you to find previously visited pages so clear the history could mean typing in URL’s again. Cookies make it easy for websites and advertisers remember who you are and sometimes track you across the web.

First on all the platforms I mentioned above they support bookmarks for frequently visited sites this way you do not need to rely on browser history. Before clearing your history save any important sites as a bookmark.

How to Clear Android Browser History

  1. Open the Chrome Browser
  2. Click Menu | More | Settings
  3. Click Clear all cookies
  4. Click Clear cache
  5. Click Clear history
  6. Clear location access (optional)

Additionally some Android phones support Adobe Flash which also means they support flash cookies. To delete Adobe flash cookies open Chrome and type the following search phrase, “How to delete flash cookies”. The first result is for macromedia and will give you access to the Adobe tool to remove flash cookies. All you need to do is click delete websites. Similar options are available upon exit if you use the popular Dolphin Browser on Android
