I was telling my cousin that he could install Skype on his Phone. I told him to go to Skype’s website, browse to the download section, and he can easily download it. 5 minutes late he calls me back and says “I can’t find it.†Now anyone that has family members that are technically challenged would proceed the same way I did.
I called
him stupid and went to get the exact link for him. To my surprise I couldn’t find it either. Searching the internet the only explanation that I found was that the app was not up to par as some of Skype’s other mobile platforms. I personally have never had an issue with the App. In fact I was very happy with it when I had to do a meeting from the Halifax Airport back to the states. Everything was flawless. Is this another vendor that has abandoned Windows Phone? Or are they truly trying to make it better like Sling Media did with the SlingPlayer. If that is the case though why take it down?
I guess it is not all bad if you already have the App for your Windows Phone, it still works. But who knows if that will change too.
