Post image for Guest Post: Review Of The Yahoo Fantasy Football Android App

Earlier we announced the availability of the Yahoo Fantasy Football Android App. This app allows Yahoo Fantasy Football Owners to manager their teams and rosters via a mobile phone. I am a huge fantasy football fan but my leagues are on another site. It is a bit of pain to setup a whole new league just to test an app so I put the call out to our faithful readers and Dan stepped up to the plate. Here are his thoughts and first impressions of the App.

Thank you Dan for your help!!!!

I’m very impressed. This is a very fast app and very easy to move around.  I have 3 leagues to move between and it’s pretty easy to switch between leagues and check my team and matchups. Any changes made are live both if making the change from the app (i can see it instantly through my computer browser) and vice versa if I make it in the browser, an app refresh will show the change. If clicking down to specific players it includes all the notes that yahoo has while clicking through the website.  I can see using my phone a lot more this year for managing my teams than having to go to the website.
I did add/drop one player from a league without any issues and it was quick.  Searching for a player was easy and quick to change.  In case you were wondering, I dropped Antonio Bryant which I got as an auto draft late in a draft after I left and picked up Michael Vick (had to go with an ex-Hokie since I’m from VT) and when Kolb goes down in the first game, I’m going to have to deal with all the trade requests when they come in, but I digress.
I can see burning through my Droid battery pretty quick on a Sunday afternoon with this. Yahoo says it will have live score updates (we’ll see how that works in a week and a half.
Interesting enough you can download it from the marketplace, but if you go to yahoo it just says coming soon (they should update that)

Perfect time to get the new Samsung Epic from Amazon.
