For some reason the default support for YouTube videos seems to be broken on my Samsung Focus running Windows Phone 7 Mango. It took me a little longer to catch an issue on my phone as I tend to use the YouTube app by Lazyworm. My wife came to me this morning and sais she could not play any videos on her Phone 7 device. I thought she was crazy and had her bring her device to me and it turns out she was right.
I then grabbed my phone and saw the same behavior which is I click on a YouTube video and nothing happens. It doesn’t matter if I do it from the Microsoft YouTube App or from browsing YouTube from the phones browse which was really odd as previously you would click a video and it would either tell you to install the app or it would just launch it.
Just to make sure it wasn’t device specific I had Rod try the same thing from his Verizon HTC Trophy and he is seeing the same thing.
Maybe I just missed some announcement and this has been coming for a while, but I know Microsoft has been complaining about access to YouTube videos for some time now. If you are seeing the same thing let us know in the comments however, in the meantime, it seams that Lazyworm’s YouTube app works fine.
