Post image for Dell’s Windows Phone 7 looks Ridiculous

Dell’s first Smartphone was ok but the new Windows Phone 7 handset looks sick. The new phone is called the Lightning and has a portrait form factor. The slider keyboard slides downwards and it looks pretty thin and sleek. This phone looks like it covers all our hopes for Windows Phone 7.

Engadget has a report that it will have a

  • 1 GHz Snapdragon process
  • 4.1-inch WVGA OLED screen,
  • 8 GB of storage, 512 MB of RAM
  • GPS
  • accelerometer,
  • FM radio
  • Potentially WiFi
  • Full Flash Support

Engadet also states that there should be separate versions for AT&T  and T-Mobile 3G networks. This probably won’t be the first phone 7 to drop but might be the best looking one so far.

I’d still take the HTC Incredible over the Lightning any day. Outside of Android 2.1 being more mature mobile OS the head to head specs still put the Incredible on top in almost every category except screen size. Check them out:

    • 4.63″ x 2.3″ x 0.47″, 4.59 oz.
    • Android 2.1 “Eclair” with Sense UI
    • 1GHz Snapdragon QSG8650 processor
    • 512MB ROM / 512MB RAM
    • Dual-band EV-DO Rev. A
    • 802.11b/g/n Wi-Fi
    • GPS
    • 3.7″ WVGA OLED capacitive display
    • 8 megapixel camera with auto-focus and video capture
    • HTML browser with Flash Lite 4.0
    • Microsoft Exchange support
    • 8GB internal memory
    • microSD support for up to 32GB
    • 3.5mm headphone jack
    • Accelerometer
    • 312 minutes talk time / 149 hours standby

Are’nt you an avid XBOX gamer. The game integration isn’t enough for you?

I really need to get you out of Amsterdam that stuff has got you jacked up. “top in almost every category?????? ” Let’s break it down. Outside of OS Maturity here we go
      Processor – Tie
Screen type both OLED – Tie
      Screen Size HTC – Wins
Camera Dell 5MP HTC 8MP – HTC Wins
Keyboard Dell Onscreen and Physical HTC just On-screen – Dell Wins
Email Support both do Exchange but Google’s implementation is Awful – Dell Wins
Browser – I really like Google’s Dolphin Browser but the New IE is supposed to be good – HTC
Storage Dell 1GB Flash ROM 512 MB DDR 8GB MicroSD Slot – HTC 512MB ROM / 512MB RAM microSD support for up to 32GB – Tie (only because HTC’s is removable)
      Connectivity – Tie
      GPS – Tie
      Accelerometer – Tie
      FM Radio – Dell

I got to give the Dell’s phone the one up win.
