Man does Apple continue to get kicked in the junk. Today Consumer Reports said that they can not recommend the iPhone 4. They even took it one step further and suggested people buy the 3Gs instead. Now if that was not enough, Consumer Reports slightly vindicates AT&T’s network.
In a quote on the Wall Street Journal website Consumer reports says:
“The tests also indicate that AT&T’s network might not be the primary suspect in the iPhone 4′s much-reported signal woes,” the publication said.
All I can say is OUCH! In the tests that they ran, Consumer Reports tested multiple phones in there lab and only saw the signal issue on the iPhone 4. So with statements from Apple saying they have gone back to their labs and this is the best antennae they have ever shipped why are we sill blaming AT&T?
Now I wonder how long Apple will ignore this report and go on pretending like nothing is wrong. This is just like a boxer that has never been cut. The first time it happens they can either react assertively or scared. Right now Apple is doing the latter. The good news is, it is not too late for them to own this issue. The phone are selling like crazy. Put a coating on the edges and be done with it. Well, of course they will have to replace all the phones that were already sold. If they do that, a year from now no one talks about this anymore.
Now excuse me while I gloat a little. There is a chink in the armor and Windows Phone 7 is on the way to do some more damage.
