Microsoft did their development community a real solid today by releasing Windows Phone 7.5 otherwise known as the Mango update. This will allow devs to update their devices to a beta version of the Phone 7. Brandon Watson has shown from the very start a mandate to make developers happy and he continues to impress us. Student developers are also in luck as they are being granted an opportunity to upgrade as well. Just make sure you follow the instructions laid out on the Windows Phone Team Blog.

With KIK you can basically have conversation with any other phone platform without the need to uses SMS Text messages. Apple has been drumming up a lot of buzz with their iCloud announcement, however Microsoft is not letting them sneak by with all the mindshare about consumer cloud offerings. On the Windows Team Blog users are reminded that they have all the features of iCloud today with Hotmail and SkyDrive. With Hotmail automatically syncing your mail, calendar and contacts to any device you connect to it your email is covered. On the other hand, SkyDrive handles photo sharing on a free 25GB of online storage.

After months of waiting and complaining finally sat rad player allows Windows Phone 7 users to listen to satellite radio on a Windows Phone 7 device. Anyone that has followed this site knows that I am a huge Opie and Anthony fan and therefore a fan of SiriusXM Satellite Radio. For whatever reason SiriusXM has yet to put out an official satellite radio application however sat rad player has pretty much made that problem irrelevant.

While Apple attempted to grab all the headlines Microsoft made sure that, they had plenty of the conversation too. Parts of the announcements made were about the new games coming to Windows Phone 7. The screenshots of the new games all look great but the one that has us the most excited is Splinter Cell followed by Let’s Golf.
