Two new HTC Windows Phone 7.5 handsets got announced today. The HTC Titan and HTC Radar will ship in October 2011. The Titan brings the massive 4.7 inch screen many users have been waiting to see come to the Windows Phone platform. Additionally, the HTC Titan will have a front facing camera so hopefully we can enjoy Skype / FaceBook / Qik video chatting.
In contrast the Radar has a 3.8 inch screen but also has a front facing camera. On interesting not is the Radar has a non removable battery which seems to annoy most users despite the fact most people never swap batteries. I am a fan of having a removable battery but with the Titan at 9.9 mm and the Radar at 10.9mm thin this move is understandable

What might be one of the best games I have ever played on my Samsung Focus mobile device I am happy to say Fight Game Rivals is now in the Windows Phone 7 Marketplace. Fight Game Rivals is not only a fight game but also involves quite a bit of strategy regarding how you attack and how you block. You also can take your fighter through the tournament and increase his fight skills. As you win fights you earn credits to buy better attacks.

Say what you want about Molly Wood, but I for one am glad she took time out to evaluate Windows Phone 7. I did not agree with all of Molly’s points or get the desired reaction. It is important for Microsoft to see what people are thinking about Phone 7 good or bad. A Windows Phone 7 fan named Carl posted a video response to Molly Wood, and I have to admit it made me laugh. It’s a long video but I enjoyed it.

Microsoft has confirmed the a front facing camera and Skype will be coming to Windows Phone. Skype provides end-to-end encryption of messages like BlackBerry BBM, which gives Microsoft a BBM like replacement that has hundreds of millions of active users. Where Skype is better than BBM is it is cross platform and lives on the desktop.
It is shocking such and announcement came from TechEd New Zealand from two employees that are not Brandon Watson or Joe Belfiore. The news itself is not shocking given, it was a given evolution. Video after break.

Brandon Watson, the Senior Director of Windows Phone Apps, has been challenging celebrities who complain about there various iPhone and Android phone issues to try out Windows Phone 7. One of those people being the creator of Dilbert Scott Adams. After reading his reaction I have to say that it seems a very fair assessment even though I don’t necessarily agree with his one complaint that Phone 7 has no “coolness factor”. Outside of that, any person looking at his results would have to say that Scott rated Windows Phone 7 higher than Android and on par with the iPhone which is what Microsoft was going for in the Mango update.

With all the streaming audio apps available on Windows Phone 7 such as TuneIn Radio, Slacker Radio and of course the built in Smart DJ there really is less need for playlists unless you are like me and want to hear specific songs at the right moment. At first glance, you may thing that you cannot create a playlist directly on Windows Phone 7 however; there are actually two ways to do this.

With the Mango update, subscribing to podcasts on Windows Phone 7 is a piece of cake. Many mobile apps that allow you to subscribe and listen to podcasts on mobile devices but it is always nice when the features are built in to the operating system like what Microsoft has done with Windows Phone 7 Mango. The previous version of Phone 7 required users to subscribe to podcasts via the Zune desktop software then sync with the PC to receive updates however in the Mango update you will now be able to subscribe to Podcasts on the phone.

Hopefully we get a hit song out of Chamillionaire that includes how much he likes Windows Phone 7 because he has just bee given the WP7 challenge Brandon Watson has been handing out. A few weeks ago the challenge was offered to Dilbert writer Scott Adams and CNET host Molly Wood now hit recording artist Chamillionaire has been added to the list. Brandon Watson is giving these folks Windows Phones after their struggles with their Android devices. I can’t see any of these folks not liking the Mango update on Windows Phone 7 and I am glad Brandon has the confidence to put Windows Phone up to the test.

If you have a child, you know that keeping them occupied can be important to a good dinner or maybe preventing a meltdown in the middle of a grocery store and fortunately, Toddler Voice Cards Plus on Windows Phone 7 does the job perfectly. One of the amazing things about kids is how fast they can pick up different things. My daughter, who is turning two in a few weeks, can take my Samsung Focus turn the screen on, and unlock it without help from me. So handing her the phone with Toddler Flash Cards Plus on the screen is a no brainer.
