Windows Phone 7 Thoughts and Review

I have been waiting for quite some time to be able to say this….. Microsoft has reinvented the Smartphone again. There were so many rumors and thoughts floating around. What the interface was going to look like other companies getting bought (RIM). I loved the ones that were saying Windows Phone 7 was going to be delayed when there was not even a releases date. All of a sudden Microsoft brings the wood.

It almost reminds me of the buzz that was existing when Windows 98 was releasing. That was a crazy time and so is this. Let’s look at some of the features.

When everyone suspected that Microsoft was going to use the Zune HD interface no one realized that it was going to be reinvented as well.

The interface for Windows Phone 7 leaked a little early according to Engadget. Apparently learnbemobile.com.com got some every early pictures of the new phones interface while at the Mobile world congress. If these are real then I am already excited about the new phone. Why? because it looks great but on the bottom of the screen is a XBOX Live button. I know Rod will be happy too because it looks like the Phone is the same size of the Zune HD.

After reviewing the Powermat from a logical standpoint I went back and read some responses that users had on various websites. The biggest response was that the cool factor of having the Powermat outweighed the practicality of it. I decided to see if my initial reaction was wrong and it is cool enough to own. Boy has my mind been made up.97ACPVDA6ED3

Post image for Put Amazon Unbox Movies on Media Center and XBOX

I wrote an article Amazon Unbox Puts Movies on Windows Phone, and we received a decent number of comments and personal emails on this topic.  This got me thinking, while Amazon movies can be watched on your mobile phone they are just as well viewed from your TV’s via a Media Center PC or even your XBOX 360. Here is what you need to do

With the Mobile World Congress getting closer the rumors on Windows Phone 7 are heating up. The latest and possibly the biggest comes from ppcgeeks (Pocket PC Geeks). On their site they have posted a list of leaked functionality. There is a disclaimer that the information may not be correct but heck it is still fun to talk about. Some of the features in the list that stand out to me are

Listening to Audiobooks on your Mobile Device

Audible

As you have probably guessed by now, I like digital media! I try and keep all my books and magazines completely digital. It isn’t too difficult, but there are some issues that you have to occasionally work around. A few years ago, my employment required that I drive about 100 minutes each way, every single work day, to get to my job. After just a week, I figured my only two choices were to quit or find some way to cope. Lucky for me that I remembered a trial subscription that I had received years before with the purchase of a Windows Mobile phone to Audible.com (now owned by Amazon).
