It looks like Verizon has pulled the gloves off when it comes to AT&T an iPhone commercials. This new spot brings back the “Can you hear me now?” guy where he holds a Verizon iPhone 4 and says, “Yes, I can hear you now.”
The Verizon iPhone Pre-order page went live exactly at 3AM on the Apple and Verizon websites last night. Current customers can pre-order now and new customers can place orders on Feb 9th, all pre-orders will be delivered on Feb 10th. I went to both Verizon and Apple and neither site was slow to respond at 3AM. If you want to avoid the classic iPhone lines, order now. I have already purchased several cases and my invisible shield to protect my iPhone the moment it comes out of the package.
I cannot recall ever paying a monthly fee for turn-by-turn navigation. Before Android devices I carried a dedicated GPS. Considering the popularity of Android on Verizon it was a matter of time until Verizon gave a good reason to pay for VZ Navigator. The new updated VZ Navigator verizon has added many stand out features. We spoke a while ago about what would make Google Maps on Android Better, needless to say VZ Navigator has most of our desired features. [click to continue…]
Days before I upgrade to the iPhone 4 Verizon is releasing BlackBerry 6 for the Bold 9650 and Curve 3G 9330. Before performing the upgrade connect your BlackBerry to Desktop Manager to get a backup. You can manually download the update files from Verizon or perform and OTA install. If you don’t see the OTA option then use the download link below.
Before you got spending money on just any iPhone 4 case remember the Verizon iPhone 4 has a slightly different placement of the mute button. Some 3rd party accessories are designed to fit button placement exactly which has required a slight redesign of cases and battery packs. Sonix has the Sonix Snap Slim Case that has an open slot around the mute and volume controls that will accommodate the recent design changes.
Part of me wants to laugh because they have clocks counting down then the alarm goes off at 12 AM on 2/10/2011. We all know the iPhone’s recent alarm issues so it makes the commercial kinda funny when you think about that.
Something tells me we won’t see the commercials that made fun of iPhone users when the Droid brand was launched. In fact I looked for them about a month back and they have been purged from YouTube.
Case-Mate took now time at all to get an Verizon iPhone 4 Case available. Case-Mate has released the iPhone 4 Pop! Case in a wide variety of colors including white/grey. If you know you are going to order a Verizon iPhone then having a case to protect your investment is wise. I personally do not like the hard edges of the iPhone 4 so I will be putting a case on my device before I power it on. I ordered the Black and Cool Grey Pop! Case and wil use this until I can ge the Otterbox Defender case that fits the Verizon iPhone. [click to continue…]
If you purchased a new phone on Verizon between 11/26/2010 – 1/10/2011 you can get a $200 Visa debit card if you purchase an iPhone 4 at full retail price. The current retail price of the iPhone 4 on AT&T is $599 for 16 GB or $699 for 32GB. Put another way, you pay retail price and you get a $200 rebate, thus you will still spend $300 or $400 for the new hardware. Additionally, you have to give up your old phone.
If you are a smart person, you know you can use EBay or Gazzell to resell you phone likely at a premium to the mere $200 being offered by Verizon on this promotion. I am not bashing Verizon, but this deal stinks. On the surface it looks like a good deal, until you think about it, and realize you have to turn in your old device. Unless of course you can turn in any old Verizon device and then I would be interested. [click to continue…]
The scramble for 3rd party Verizon iPhone cases has begun. If you are a fan of Case-mate they plan to have cases for the Verizon iPhone. Just sign-up to be notified at Case-mate. The ringer mute button on the Verizon iPhone is slightly lower than on other iPhones thus the need for specialized cases. If the case just has an open slot it will likely fit either device but in the case of cases that cover the bottons you may need to find an alternative. I will personally be waiting for the Otterbox Defender Case. [click to continue…]
In typical Daily Show fashion, Jon Stewart and friends celebrated the arrival of the Verizon iPhone last night. In a seven-minute spot, Stewart begins by recounting iPhone users’ hardships on AT&T. ”For the past three or four years, those of us in the iPhone community have sacrificed one thing for the ability to carry around every photograph we’ve ever taken, or song we’ve ever listened to, or home video, or compass,” Stewart said at the start of the segment. “We have sacrificed the ability to make phone calls.” The segment is 7:18 long and well worth the time to watch, especially if you despise AT&T.
