ViewSonic has released an update which adds support for Adobe Flash. Additionally, the ViewSonic gTablet will also have support for USB Keyboard and mouse. The tablet will also have support for external docking stations. Call me silly but ViewSonic has creating a build your own computer. Either you want a tablet you you want a computer that needs to be assembled and lacks the functionality of most modern computers.

While we have all been watching and writing about the new tablets that have hit the market such as the iPad 1, iPad 2, the Motorola Zoom and the BlackBerry Playbook to name a few; I personally have been waiting for a solid Windows Tablet to hit the market. Not because I hate the other platforms so much because only one of them I am not a big fan of however, rather I wanted to jump on the first opportunity to pay with Windows 8. Despite that reason, I still needed to use and play with the ViewSonic Viewpad 10 Windows Tablet. The first thing out of them all is the unboxing of this nice tablet.

Acer is releasing their Android powered Honeycomb tablet on April 24th for $450. The Acer Iconia Tab A500 is a WiFi-only Android 3.0 tablet that is coming to Best Buy and online retailers. The specs on the Iconia are similar to the Motorola Xoom at $150 less. Dual-core 1GHz Tegra 250, 10.1 inch 1280 x 800 display, 1GB Ram, 16GB flash storage, 5 megapixel camera rear, 2 megapixel front, and HDMI out. I would not be to concerned with only 16 GB of flash storage as you can add a 32GB micro SD Card.

Hopefully you are as excited as I am by the upcoming HTC Flyer tablet running Android OS. It is not going to be running the very latest Honeycomb Android 3.0 OS, but rather the still new Android 2.4 Gingerbread (we hope!). This is most likely because of what HTC is offering with this device: a pen! Now, this is not the crayon-sized stylus that you can currently use on the iPad or any Android tablet. This is a real, honest-to-goodness active, powered Pen device that for the first time will give you the same functionality that you have been able to get for the last 10 years with Windows Tablet PC’s, but now on the ultra-portable Android platform. Keep in mind that you don’t have to use it. The pen is completely optional and you can just use touch to your heart’s content. But I really want to use it!

There is a look of anticipation you see on a kid’s face when you say we are going to Disney World, and then there is the giddy joy of two adults when they unbox and play with an iPad 2. You can cross the threshold of any Apple store and there is bound to be someone making funny faces at the camera as they play with Photo Booth. The iPad 2 includes Photo Booth, which is an application that can be hours of fun.

I hope you got up early this morning and went to the local Best Buy or Apple Store to purchase your iPad 2. Currently on Apple.com the estimated ship time is 2-3 weeks on all iPad models. This is one time I suggest not shopping online. RIM might be able to release the BlackBerry Playbook before Apple catches up with demand.
The iPad 2 is exactly what everyone was expecting except it is going to release earlier than expected. Over the next 30 days lets see if anyone talks about the HP TouchPad or RIM PlayBook.

BGR has multiple sources stating the BlackBerry Playbook, RIM’s Tablet, will launch on April 10th. It is likely RIM is trying to take some steam out of Apple’s press event today for the iPad 2. What is more interesting is the OS will hit gold mater 10 days prior to sales which means an update will be required upon booting up. If that is the case there is no doubt RIM is doing everything to push this device out to market.

Will the Apple Special Event that is likely iPad2 impact the launch day sales of the Motorola Xoom tablet? The Xoom, Android 3.0 powered tablet, appeared to be a viable competitor to the iPad. Apple’s iPad 2 event will likely delay or halt some Xoom purchases as much as the $800 price tag and lack of Wi-Fi only version.
