The BlackBerry Style went on sale today at Sprint stores. The BlackBerry Style is the second device officially running BlackBerry 6. I am rather excited to see one of these devices in the wild. Sprint is selling these devices for $99 with a 2 year contract, which is insanly good considering it is a new device. Not as good a the 1¢ offer for the BlackBerry Curve 3G on all the major US carriers. I am not a fan of the BlackBerry Style or flip phones, but lets see how long it takes to become a free phone via Amazon.
BlackBerry Curve 3G 1¢ on AT&T | 1¢ on Sprint | 1¢ on Verizon | 1¢ on TMobile
Oh look, it took Spint, a retailer without a vested interest in Apple products, to provide customers access to the Galaxy Tab at a reasonable price.
The Galaxy Tab 3G model will be on sale at Sprint Stores on November 14th $399.99 with a 2 year service agreement. Did I say we finally have a reasonable price point. Unless you have been living under a rock you have likely heard about the Android Powered Galaxy Tablet. It has a 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, front/rear facing cameras, Wi-Fi b/g/n, and a 16GB Micro SD Card for storage. All I can say is if you are looking for the Galaxy Tab forget Verizon, Sprint is the natural choice.

I have no doubt there is some user base that will find the BlackBerry Style to the perfect BlackBerry. I can only hope the have a friend that will politely slap some sense into them as this is one UGLY phone. The Style will be the second BlackBerry Running OS 6. Sprint and RIM have made it official that the BlackBerry Style 9670 is coming to Sprint for $99 after a $100 mail-in-rebate and on a 2 year contract. There are many better devices for $99 or less on Sprint.
Hopefully the Style will have a stronger processor than the Torch, but that is unlikely. The Style does have Wi-Fi and a 5 megapixel camera. Unless you really want a flip phone I would pass on this BlackBerry.

Samsung’s has created a pretty decent Android phone for Sprint called the Epic. The price of the device on sprint is 249.99 with a two year contract and 499 outright, but you can save 50 dollars at Amazon.com. The Epic features a 4.0 AMOLED screen and has support for both 3G and 4G. For those of us that like a physical keyboard the Samsung Epic has a full slide out keyboard too.The built in Hotspot allows you to share your connection with 5 other devices.

We have received a couple emails telling us about users getting the Android 2.2 update on their HTC Evo 4G phones. You have to give Sprint credit the update is not only on time but it is early. If you have rooted your device please bypass this update, assuming you want to remain rooted. All those getting updated enjoy!
Sprint finally gave the official announcement Android 2.2 coming to HTC Evo users starting August 3rd. The announcement came out via the Sprint twitter account. Ignoring the Nexus One this will be the first carrier pushing Android 2.2 to devices. Something tells me we will start seeing many devices updating over the next couple weeks. Hopefully there will be a manual update process for Evo users. OTA is great but waiting to get the update notification can be annoying.
A ruggedized Android handset with the push to talk. The Motorola i1 is scheduled to release on July 25th for $149.99 on Sprint. The spec are not ground breaking but given the rugged design it is par for the course. The device has 3G, Wi-Fi, 3.1 inch HVGA touch screen, 5 megapixel camera, and flash support. There are more and more companies cropping up that follow the prepaid model. While the big guys like AT&T, Verizon, and T-Mobile all have prepaid plans, there are plenty of smaller companies too. Simple Mobile, Cricket are probably two of the most popular ones. The nice thing about them is not only do they keep the prices down but you can cancel anytime. An added benifit for Simple Mobile is the fact that you can bring your own GSM Phone. Today Walmart and Sprint are creating a service called Common Cents Mobile.
