For people waiting around for the HTC Titan may be disturbed to know that you will be waiting a bit longer. We ordered the HTC Titan from AT&T on Monday morning and have just now received an email that the 4.7 inch Windows Phone 7 device is now backordered. This goes back to reports that we were getting on Monday were readers could not find the massive Titan phone at their local retailers. I am not sure if they had a last minute issue or are demand for the HTC Titan higher than they expected. Whichever turns out to be true, these are issue Microsoft do not need. I hope that devices will make it out soon to the Windows Phone 7 fans that want them.

After what seemed to be years, however in actuality only a few weeks, we have finally received the HTC Titan. As far as Windows Phone 7 devices goes, the Titan is one of the best devices available. When you grab the phone, hold, and feel it, you quickly feel why HTC earned the sentiments reviewers are giving it.

There are many new phones coming out over the next few weeks however, we wanted to peek at two of the hottest Smartphones on different platforms.
For Android users the Motorola Droid Razr is definite the phone to get while on Windows Phone 7 the HTC Titan seems to be the choice phone for many people.
Looking at the hardware alone the Droid Razr clearly is the better device. While the HTC Titan is bigger, the Razr has a higher screen resolution, faster processor, and LTE support you just have to give that to the RAZR. On the other hand, when we include the operating systems, I believe it evens the phones up a bit, because Windows Phone 7 is one of the smoothest and fastest mobile operating systems and I also don’t believe that the Android OS and the apps that run on it are completely optimized to use multi-cores.

Both Rod and Chris attended the Windows Phone event in New York on Monday and Tuesday and I think the phone that they both liked the most was the 4.7-inch HTC Titan.
According to the @HTCUSA Twitter account, AT&T is set to launch the HTC Titan on Nov. 20th for $199.99. Rod just picked up the iPhone 4s, so, he may hold off on the Titan, but, I’d be willing to bet that Chris is already making plans to camp out at the AT&T store just so that he can be first in line to pick his up…
Although we all knew that Skype is coming to Windows Phone 7, it is very cool to have another option for cross platform Video calling moreover an app available today. Tango’s Video chat app will obviously work best on the Samsung Focus S or Flash, the HTC Radar, or the HTC Titan because they all have front facing cameras however, older phones will work with the rear camera. One other feature to note is that Tango indeed works over 2G, 3G and 4G mobile towers.

Until now, most people pay a hundred-dollar developer fee for the ability to unlock their Windows Phone 7 device. Developer unlocking your device essentially allows you to install apps that are not coming from the Phone 7 Marketplace. While some people are not happy, that Chevron is charging for this feature I for one say good for them. I never understand why people think someone’s hard work should be free. If you simply go to their site and sign in with your Windows Live ID you can pay the fee and get the ability to unlock your phone. Who knows maybe there will be a Homebrew app store soon?
