HP TouchPad

If you are one of the lucky few that have purchased and HP TouchPad in hopes to install a Windows 8 Arm build or a custom ported version of Android, then today is your lucky day. CyanogenMod 7.1 has a version of Gingerbread built for the HP slate. This CyanogenMod is an Alpha build it does support multiboot, ten-point multitouch, WiFi, camera and video chat, but there is limited support for GPU acceleration, app compatibility, and power consumption is not optimized. BlackBerry PlayBook

I have several friends that love their BlackBerry smartphones so I lent one a BlackBerry PlayBook to test out.  I reset my device and turned it over with no instructions other than ‘tell me what you think’.  During my friends evaluation I provided just a little guidance about general technology and things to try, but, overall she has been rocking my BlackBerry PlayBook for 5 weeks and this is what she thinks.

HeyTell for Android and iOS

HeyTell is a cross platform voice chat application. It is a hybrid between Skype and SMS which allows you to have SMS like conversations but using the voice vs text. Essentially, HeyTell is a modern day walkie talkie service. HeyTell does not use a username an password, rather you provide your contact details and it creates a signature for you on the network from this device. The challenge is you cannot have a single HeyTell account on multiple devices like you can with competitive solution like TalkBox.

With the announcement of the iPhone 5 only a day away here is how you can switch your HeyTell from one iOS device to another or from Android to iOS.

Bowers and Wilkins C5

You don’t need to be and audiophile to enjoy luxurious sounds of the Bowers and Wilkins C5 headphones. The B&W C5 is a noise-isolating in-ear headset built with controlling iOS devices in mind. The inline remote and mic allow you to answer calls, change songs, adjust volume, or just enjoy the concert in your ears. The C5 produces amazing audio quality that uses noise isolation technology vs noise cancellation which can degrade audio quality. I have used Bowers and Wilkins speakers in my home theatre setup for years and have no question as to the audio or construction quality and the B & W C5  lives up to that historical quality.
