After reviewing the Powermat from a logical standpoint I went back and read some responses that users had on various websites. The biggest response was that the cool factor of having the Powermat outweighed the practicality of it. I decided to see if my initial reaction was wrong and it is cool enough to own. The other day my son came home from college and was asking me if I knew about the new charging thing that was wireless. I laughed and said that thing is the Powermat. I told him that I had looked at it but it is not ready for prime time as far as I am concerned. The reality is, this concept is what we have been dreaming about since we were kids. And looks like the guys over at Powermat were able to make it come true. The Powermat is 99.99 both from Best Buy and Powermat.com. The bottom line is this technology has to be built into devices! Having a need to purchase another device to make this work is not very compelling.
