Action Movie Fx

Get Hollywood quality special effects in your iPhone movie projects. This was the simple challenge I had from a 5 and 8 year old, fortunate for me there is an app for that. Action Movie FX is a free iOS app that gives you two free effects of a Missile Attack and Car Crash with additional special effects available for an in-app purchase.

The app has a built-in slider control that lets you place each effect where you desire. The effect is about 5 seconds in duration so your video needs to be longer than 5 seconds. If your timing is off you can make adjustments during the edit process. This is not a high precision frame-by-frame editor but it gets the job done. From inside the app you can share your video via Facebook, Email, or to the Camera Roll.

My Smart Hands

One of the many goals of a parent  is to teach our children effective ways to communicate.  Because infants and babies haven’t yet developed the ability to speak, it can be difficult, at times, to understand what they need or want.

Sign Language, on the other hand, is a skill, that children as young as six or seven months old can use effectively and My Smart Hands for iOS and Adroid is an app that can help children communicate with their parents long before they start to master verbal communication…

Post image for SlingPlayer App Coming To FaceBook

Any reader of Simple Mobile Review knows that we are huge fans of the Slingbox which is a device that essentially allows you to watch you’re your Cable or Satellite box anywhere you have an internet connection. SlingMedia has done a great job bringing their SlingPlayer app to most mobile and desktop platforms and they even have a version that runs in a web browser. For whatever reason, Sling Media did not think that was enough so now they are adding the ability to watch your TV right from Facebook. All you will have to do is search for and install the SlingPlayer app in Facebook and you will be able to connect to any of your Sling Boxes.

Reminders

How many times at the end of a business day have you said, “I will deal with this first thing tomorrow,” only to forget about it over night. Since iOS 5 was announced I felt the Reminders app would be a stand out winner, and it has proven to be the ultimate task reminder tool. We frequently get asked “can you call me around 3:00,” “can you remind me about that tomorrow,” or told “ we cannot book the flight for another 45 days.” Some of these may actually make it to your calendar as events, while others you may only hope to remember. With iOS Reminders, however, all of these small tasks are pushed off to a humble app.
