Post image for Kinect Sensor For Windows Pre-Order From Amazon

The Microsoft Keynote just finished up and there were many great applications, features and products that were announced.  One of which is Kinect coming to the Windows platform this February.  As a matter of fact you can pre-order the Kinect sensor for Windows now on Amazon.com  (although it is quite pricey, $250).  With the new Metro style interface used across all Microsoft platforms this should prove to be an interesting experience.

Flipit USB Charger

The Flip it USB Charger is a creative solution to a problem which most travelers face. Many airports are providing charging stations and more power outlets, but despite the number of outlets, there will come a time when you cannot get an outlet to charge up one of your many devices. The Flipit USB charger lets you charge a USB device by sharing a single outlet with another traveler. Essentially, you unplug their device and slide the Flipit tab on their wall adapter, then plug back in. Both have power.

Recording With A GoProHD Racing inside a Ferrari Enzo

Imagine walking your 2003 Ferrari Enzo to the start line on the Utah Salt flats as you prepare to make a test run before going for the land
speed record. The Enzo is 8 years old yet it still looks space age. Now site back and start shifting. We put our GoProHD in such a car and it presented some interesting challenges due to the speed, car vibration, and the bright white salt. Checkout our review of the GoPro HD or see our less extreme uses of the GoPro HD. The inside of the car is loud but enjoy the 7 minute video. We did an earlier video of this Ferrari Enzo and many people wanted to see the car driving.

Easy Solar Recharging with Ray Solar Charger

Ray Solar Charger

One of the truisms in today’s world is that there is never a plug nearby when you need one. Sure, I carry a huge spare battery in my giant carry-on electronics bag, but it is quite a chore to dig it out, set things up, and recharge. An then when I am recharging my smartphone, I find that my Kindle is dead too. I guess I forgot to turn off the Wi-Fi. Dang!

When I first saw the Ray Solar Charger , I knew this was a gadget for me. A solar recharger with a multitude of possible uses, from mounting to an airline windows, to propping on a table to recharge using artificial light, it is there and easy to use. I am also excited about the Ray for emergency purposes too. It will be nice not to have to totally rely on the power grid to keep my device operational. Just one of the things I often think about living in Houston.

Otterbox Defender and Commuter Case for the Droid Razr

The Motorola Droid Razr launched on 11/11/11 at 11:11 AM and Otterbox was ready with both the DROID RAZR Defender Series Case and DROID RAZR Commuter Series Case to protect the device. If you are not aware Otterbox builds some of the most durable cases on the market and with a phone as thin as the Droid Razr this is on accessory to consider.

The Defender Series case is the most rugged case offered by Otterbox while the Commuter series tries to preserve the slim design with a protective shell. Despite being water resistant and scratch proof this is a case to have

iPad after Cloth Addiction Clean

After a child plays with an iPad, the screen looks like a jumble of smudged finger prints similar to finger paint. Every day or two, I clean the screens on our iPads to get back to a clean display. I decided to try a cleaning cloth called Cloth Addiction which is a microfiber cleaning cloth from a company called CTA Products.

Logitech Keyboard Case for iPad 2

The iPad is becoming a common guest in meetings. I have never seen more iPads or Logitech Keyboard Cases as I have a Blog World 2011 in LA. While laptops dominated the landscape it was clear that the trendsetters opted for their iPad 2 with the Logitech Keyboard Case. The ultra slim iPad 2 and Logitech Keyboard Case combination made the MacBook Air look like a relic of the past.

Add A Bigger Hard Drive To Your DirecTV Box

Post image for Add A Bigger Hard Drive To Your DirecTV Box

DirecTV has always been good about keeping up to date with the latest technology and supporting a larger hard drive for the DVR is a yet another cool feature they support. To extend the drive space you simply need an external Hard Drive that has an eSata connection. The nice thing about DirecTV’s support is that you can go and build your own external drive as opposed to buying a ready-made one such as the Western Digital My Book . I bought an Antec MX-1 Enclosure because it looked better than the western digital case and it has a built-in fan to keep the hard drive cool.
