BlackBerry USB Power Plug

I saw BlackBerry redesigned their charger into a nice small device, Apple like.  I have several small USB wall chargers that have come with my iPod Touch, Amazon Kindle, HTC Incredible, and various other devices.  Just as I was getting excited about this charger I remembered AT&T had announced the Zero Charger months ago the was coming to market.  While the current chargers on the market are nice and the one from RIM looks great I think for the price I am going with the AT&T charger.

I don’t know how I missed the release of this charger but it is a great advancement for people concerned about the environment.  This is the first USB wall charger that shuts itself off when not recharging devices.  Most chargers have a phantom draw when the charger is left plugged in.  Currently the Zero Charger is $12 from AT&T. The redesigned BlackBerry USB Charger is $10 on Amazon.

Benefits of the AT&T ZERO Charger and ZERO Charger cables include:

  • 100% energy-efficient when not charging a phone
  • Almost universal compatibility – use from one outlet with various devices (phones, iPods, BLUETOOTH® headsets, and more)
  • New charging features with no price increase
  • Eco-friendly charging choice
