BlackBerry Style 9670

I have but one word to describe the image above, irony. There is no way in hell RIM can believe calling the phone Style will some how cast a reality distortion field on everyone to believe this is anything other than UGLY. I was actually crying when I wrote this post, it takes a lot of laughing to produce tears people.

Irony – the use of words to convey a meaning that is the opposite of its literal meaning.

This is the heart of the problem with RIM, they are failing to hear the market.  Apple today blew so many away with design and RIM delivers “style”.  Who is this Stylish to?  Please someone tell me. Either this is a executive decision or someone needs to be shown the door. Style my @$$. This is the worlds biggest momma joke.  Oh this will be running BlackBerry 6 so there is something good.

WTF kinda name is that for a phone? Style?? Seriously RIM??
They must be smoking crack up there or something.

Apple hit another homerun today, and RIM dribbles one to 3rd baseball with a 12 y/o girl pitching.

I think I hear the fat lady singing for RIM.

How soon til til they are irrelevant?

I believe it is going to tak a major loss to market share. With Android and iPhone already eating into their business I thing WIndows Phone 7 & WebOS 2.0 will add more pressure then they can stand. I have listened to BB fans and security and BBM is all they have to talk about.
Market is changing and countries are forcing RIM to compromise the security or at least it is putting a question in the mind of consumers.

Next year this time we will talk about how RIM is not longer the #1 Smartphone maker in the US.

They are rapidly losing market share. Consumers just aren’t going to buy so-so phones ust because they say blackberry on them.

I owned 2 blackberries over the last 2 years and I was content at the time. But when It came time to upgrade back in late July I got the best phone that I could from my carrier (AT&T) which was the iPhone 4. I knew the bb torch was coming out soon but it really was a no brainer.

RIM will continue to to do well on the business side for a while, but soon they’ll be #3 or 4 smartphone maker in the US.
Oh and as far as BBM goes. I had lots of friends who had blackberries but not a single person used it. I guess it’s kinda cool an all but I never had any real use for it. Didn’t miss it one bit when I switched over to the iPhone
