Keeping up with Google’s Map application Microsoft’s Bing app is adding voice navigation too. As of today, Windows Phone 6.x users can check for an update on their phones or browse to m.bing.com to get the update. After the install just launch the app and you should see a new Navigate button. Bing Mobile will calculate your route and provide audio prompts during your travels.

The new features are powered by Microsoft’s Tellme voice technology. Between Google and Microsoft there is really no reason that I can think of to pay for Telenav and other subscription based Navigation apps. I am a huge fan of AT&T Navigator (Telenav) but always prefer free to paid.

One advantage here that I did not see on the Google Maps app is the ability to select the fastest or shortest route, choose to avoid traffic and/or tolls,

Unfortunately not all phones and networks are supported. Here is the list of phones that will work

HTC Fuze
HTC Pure
HTC HD2
HTC Tilt2
HTC Touch Diamond2
HTC Touch HD
HTC Touch Pro
HTC Touch Pro2
Motorola Q9c
Samsung Jack
Samsung Omnia II
Samsung Propel Pro
T-Mobile Dash 3G

Also Verizon is not listed as a carrier that is supported either. Sprint, T-Mobile, or AT&T are the only ones listed.
