Here at SimpleMobileReview we are big fans of battery backups. We all travel a lot and mobile power and extending battery life is a premium concept to us. The one mobile charger that we are starting to settle on is the Energizer XPAL 18000 Portable Battery Pack and Charger. We have all used a few different chargers for our iPads, iPhones, Android Phones, basically all of our gadgets but, the best bang for the buck (and ounce!) in portable battery power seems to be the XP18000. Rod is currently on a trip and only took his Energizer XP18000 to recharger his mobile devices. As of today he as only lost one bar of power on the batter after recharging his iPhone, BlackBerry and iPad 2.

Energizer XPAL 18000 Portable Battery Pack and Charger

Energizer XP18000 Universal 18000 mAh Portable Battery Back and Charger can charge and powers any laptop anytime, even with a dead battery, because of the 18000 mAh power capacity using lithium polymer battery cell technology. The XP18000 charge up to 3 devices at the same time and is perfect for powering and charging iPod, MP3 players, cell phones, Bluetooth, portable DVD players, portable gaming systems, camcorders, laptops and, netbooks. As a bonus the package includes ALL the necessary cables, tips and connectors you could possibly need already included. However as new devices are always coming out, they also offer 2 free tips per year for as long as you own the product. This unit has a standard 5V USB port, as well as a 16-20 Volt port for notebooks and another 12-16 Volt port for netbooks. All three can theoretically be used simultaneously. The unit is 4.5 x 7 x 1.6 inches and weighs 15.6 ounces, or just slightly less than a pound and of course can charge itself while charging other devices.

Although the Energizer battery pack sells for $152.00 on Amazon, having one device that can provide power to so many things is priceless especially for camping trips or tailgating. Next week I am travelling with just my View Sonic ViewPad 10, Samsung Focus and the Energizer XPAL 18000 Portable Battery Pack and Charger. I have no doubt this will be all I need for a successful business trip.

I wonder if this would work with my very power hungry Dell M4500 mobile workstation. It’s got strange power needs 19.5V & 6.7A. The XPAL 18000 is rated at 19V and only 3.5A. Has anyone tried charging a mobile workstation with this yet?

I have not but i should say that the input is 19v the rated output is 5 – 20 v so it may work my man! I am looking up a tip now Rated Input: DC 19V, Max 3500 mA
Rated Output: DC 5-20V, Max 3500 mA

Hi, did you find that TIP, I am looking for a Dell E6500 looking like the same 19V output, I found the AB14 tip did you order yours yet? or get it yet?

        • Chris

My tip has not come in yet but I did not rush order it either. I actually have the E6500 as well but had no desire to travel with it anymore. It is good to know that they do have the tip available to order.
