SpriteBackup

If you have spent any time at all on other Smartphone platforms than Android, you are probably already familiar with Sprite Backup. They have been around some 8 years and I first started using them on Windows Mobile (or Pocket PC, as it was called way back then). They have an outstanding offering for Android platforms (Android 1.5+ and Languages: English, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Japanese, Chinese, Korean, plus 44 more). You can pick it up in the Market for $4.99. So, what’s so special about Sprite Backup?

Sprite Backup for Android

SpriteMobile

Sprite has a lot of experience and it shows:

  • Online backup – Backup your files to Box.net or Dropbox for free!
  • We backup the most – We backup more of your data than any other backup product on the market. More importantly we can restore it too.
  • Scheduled Backup – The most flexible scheduling options available. Silently protect your data 24/7.
  • Online Backup – The only solution that backs up to trusted online providers, so you can restore when you need to.
  • Reliable – Sprite have been supplying phone backup solutions for over 8 years and are widely recognized as the market leader.
  • We’re the fastest – We’re the fastest backup available (1000 SMS in seconds!).

Backup Location

Sprite Backup directly interfaces with Box.net and Dropbox, so that you can directly backup to either of those cloud spaces and have immediate access to your backup wherever else you are logged in. This is accomplished very quickly and gives you the ultimate control over where your backup is archived. If you use Sugarsync or Pogoplug, you can point the backup to the appropriate sync directory on your SD Card and you can accomplish exactly the same thing but in a more round-about fashion.

Very slick, but I think I’ll stick to Titanium Backup for root…

Me too. I still rely on Titanium Backup to help me over the ROM upgrade hump. However, it is also great to have this stuff all backed up off-device.
