There have been many negative comments about AT&T over the last few years, mostly about their network. So many people complain that they have no signal everywhere they go. I have to say, it is not that I do not believe you, I just have never experienced it. My job requires me to travel throughout the US and overwhelmingly I do not experience coverage issues.

Another thing that I have noticed is a huge debate over who is the better carrier, which usually boils down to Verizon vs. AT&T. I have always found the plans on AT&T to suit my family better, because of Rollover Minutes. Why shouldn’t you be able to keep you unused monthly minutes? However as good as Rollover Minutes are, AT&T did something for me that has created a lifelong AT&T customer.

I have a family plan with three phones on it and I recently added a 4th phone line (Samsung Focus ). Naturally, the minute usage on my plan went up however I never checked how much. Over the last few months I realized we are consuming more talk time minutes month-over-month. Last month was the first time in 5 years that I almost went over my allotted minutes and did not have a sufficient number of roll over minutes to cover. Fortunately, for me, AT&T had my back.

I received a text message from AT&T that stated I was about to go over my minutes for the month. I know that is not a big deal however, what happened next I found amazing. In the text, AT&T gave me 1000 free rollover minutes or stated another way; they gave me enough extra minutes, which prevented me from paying a higher bill. AT&T could have easily sent me a much higher bill however; I am impressed they took the high road and helped their customer instead. The great thing about this is the fact that I do not know how you get AT&T to do this but I do know I am grateful.

Therefore, as Verizon and possibly Sprint get the iPhone people can switch carriers if they choose to. I will leave you with this, if AT&T was good enough to take care of one customer for no reason, what will they do for you?

If you have a similar story on another carrier let, us know in the comments we would love to hear it.

Thanks AT&T

Chris

    Chris,
Good Post. It’s calling “Paying it forward”. AT&T paid you forward and in turn, you have become their customer for life.
Although I have plenty of rollover minutes and should never end up in the same boat as you, one of the reasons I have been with Cingular and no AT&T is the rollover minutes. I don’t have any plans of leaving AT&T either. I like them despite some of the problems they have had. They have been quite helpful to me as well, when needed.

    thanks.

Technically paying it forward would be he becomes loyal to VZW for not logical reason and in turn they help a customer who leaves for AT&T. See the great circle of life.

Chris had a boat load of Roll over minutes until he added a teen to his account. Just wait until you have a teen on you plan

I dont know about everyone else, but i always had a pleasant experience with AT&T customer services. I, myself, got a few of these free roll over minutes, but not as high as Chris. Most are about 500 rollover min.
