Jawbone Era

The other day I was in the airport talking on the phone using my Plantronics Voyager Pro wireless Bluetooth headset, and, as good as the Voyager Pro is, I was reminded of how how powerful the experience of Noise Assassin technology found in Jawbone Bluetooth headsets as the person I was talking to kept telling me how loud the orchestra of people around me was…

Aliph has released the lastest in the line of Jawbone bluetooth headsets, the Jawbone Era.  Needless to say I ordered the Jawbone Era as I want to take advantage of the Noise Assassin 3.0 advancements.

Jawbone ERA™ is the only Bluetooth® headset equipped with military-grade NoiseAssasin® 3.0, the latest version of Jawbone’s industry-first noise and wind canceling technology. Originally developed for use by tank commanders and helicopter pilots, NoiseAssassin 3.0 eliminates background noise better than any other headset. It also auto-adjusts inbound call volume and intelligibility to your environment. Whether you’re at a noisy ball game or on the road, you’ll always hear and be heard.

Aliph has included a speaker in the Jawbone Era that is 25% larger than previous models. This bluetooth headset supports A2DP, Bluetooth Audio Streaming, was designed for listening to music, podcasts, and YouTube videos.  The Jawbone Era also uses MyTalk to download apps Caller ID name announcement or to send emails and text messages with voice commands.

I will be pairing the Jawbone Era with my iPhone 4 when it arrives later today. If you have any experience with the Era I would love to hear the feedback. I personally won’t be caught lacking a quality noise reduction technology only provided by the Noise Assassin.

I just got my hands on the Jawbone Prime actually (my first dabble into bluetooth headsets!). There aren’t too many places that sell them in the UK anymore so I went through these guys. I have to say it’s a pretty nice piece of kit. The design is pretty classy and I love the noise cancellation.

I might upgrade to the Era at some point though, as my daughter has her eye on this one lol… I’m wondering if it really is a step up from the Prime or if I should just stick to what I know…
