Chris, I only have one thing to say: No government has EVER resisted misusing something they COULD do, legal or not. Patriot Act = 7 years of illegal wiretapping of ALL Americans by the CIA and NSA who are legally bound to NOT spy on American citizens. They admit it and admit that it was wrong and refuse to tell us why they did it. Wasn’t it just a couple of weeks ago that you were up in arms over Google capturing wireless data? Why were you upset over that? You don’t need any privacy, apparently. :-) (Wish I had been there!)

Here is the difference as I see it Brent. Google said they were taking pictures. Turns out they were capturing wireless data and “accidently” got payload information” to me that is blatantly shady. Here they are saying that if you buy a prepaid phone you have to register it. That is upfront. You still have the option not to buy the phone. As far as privacy is concerned I like my privacy like the next person. I am not quick to say everything is a violation of it.

I was thinking that you would have been great on this discussion!!
